My 2 Black Chicks = RIRS
My Other 2 Chicks= Rhode Island Reds
Not To Make You Confuse On What Your Going To Read..

I Have 2 Rhode Island Reds And Another 2 black chicks that I think are RIRS (Rhode Island Reds.. RIRS For short).
Anyways the 2 Rhode Island Reds already had their tail feather growing while the other 2 RIRS have smooth butts. They don't even get poop stuck on their butts! Only My 2 Rhode Island Chicks Get Poop Stuck and I Always Have To Come And Clean Their Butts.

I Even Search Everywhere On Why My 2 RIRS so different from my Rhode Island Red but I only seen that my 2 RIRS might be roosters but the feed store said that they were pullets! >.< I'm so confuse.. and another person said that one might be a rooster.. I don't have a problem on them being a rooster but I just want to know why my two RIRS and my two Rhode Island Reds Are Different.. or my 2 RIRS might not be Rhode Island Reds.. idk
Note= Idk Where To Post This Thread..

I think you are saying 2 of your chicks should be RIR's but are BLACK instead. If so the black ones are definitely NOT RIRS. The will not change to red later on. Either you were sold something else or I am not understanding your issues.

If you would please post photos of all your chicks- it would be much easier for us to offer an answer.

I Mean Like 2 Of My Rhode Island Reds Are Already Growing Their Tail Feathers while The Other 2 Just Have Smooth Butts. And I'm figuring out if my other 2 who has smooth Butts are Roosters while my 2 Who has Tail Feathers are Hens.. I'm kinda new to chicks and I'm hard to explain.. Sorry and The place that I bought them only said that the black ones lay different color eggs and they were beside the Rhode Island Reds Pullets so I That That They Were Rhode Island Reds.

Oh and the place that I bought them didn't tell me the 2 black chicks breed but only told me that they are going to lay different color eggs..

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2, your black chicks are not Rhode Island Reds, if you can post pictures people might be able to help you figure out what they are. Chicks feather in at different rates due to various reasons, roosters do sometimes feather in slower than hens, but their genetics/how fast their parents grew feathers makes a big difference also... so slow feathering chicks are not necessarily roosters, and it isn't unusual to have different kinds of chicks of the same age with different amounts of feathers.
