why are my bunnies fighting

a couple of weeks ago we got 2 bunnies we have never had bunnies before. they where being friends sleeping together eating together and they just started fighting we think they are boys do boy bunnies just like to fight what do i do

Are you sure they are both boys? Did anyone try to sex them?

Every once in a while, you may come across male rabbits that continue to get along well into adulthood. Usually what happens is that the males need cages of their own once they get to be about 4 months old. They can seriously injure each other, so if yours are fighting, they really ought to be housed separately.

no i am not shore and they r brothers they r only about 2 months old

I agree with the Bunnylady...but, if you want to check their sexes, look at their privates...males will have a round opening and females will have more of a slit.

what if one of them is not a boy could that be why they are all of a sudden fighting

It is a possibility but the other possibility is that they are two boys that will never be friends again and need to be separated.

I had 3 bunny brothers who lived happily together for a year with ZERO fighting. The alpha bunny finally found a new home and, within 2 days, the 2 remaining bunnies were at it like cats and dogs. They haven't been able to be in the same pen since. Strangely, though, they will pine and stop eating if moved away from each other. The 2 share a large divided run and are always lying right beside each other.

Unless they are housed in a huge area, they are probably not going to get along, two males, male and female or two females. Most rabbits do better by themselves. The fights will continue to become more aggressive and can end in disasterous injuries to one or both (usually involving injuries to genitals). Separate them now, and hope one isn't pregnant.
