We hatched our own chicks from our previous chickens we own. There is only one rooster that is a Rhode Island Red, 1 Rhode Island Red Hen, and 2 barredrock hens. As you can see from the picture there is one way lighter than the others. We have to like this, does anyone have any insight?

You may have accidentally created some Black Sexlinks (red/buff roo over barred hen)
The cockerels have a cuckoo pattern, while the pullets will be black with some gold feathering. This is an article about breeding sexlinks- https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...rs-what-they-are-and-how-to-breed-them.65934/

Also, of one of your birds was not purebred, they could be carrying some genes that cause unusual coloring
