Why are my females fighting?

Today I had one of my females going after the the other female. They have never had a problem before. Just yesterday they got switched to a smaller cage and in my 2nd cage the male has started to crow. I took the female that was picking the fight and put her in an empty cage. IS it because they are in a smaller cage?

How much space do they have per bird now? And what are your gender ratios? If you took someone out of the covey you may have upset their dynamic a bit, I might let the aggressor sleep on it and see if she plays nice once she gets a little lonely.
Good luck,
Jessie

I have 2 females to 1 male in a cage a 3x3. I put her in her own cage last night so hopefully she will play nice today.

Nope. Put her back in this morning and she was fine for a little bit but then she was back at it. I am going to move them back into their old cage and see what happens. If she continues this behavior I am not sure what I am going to do.

Aw drat,
I may have missed it further up, but what kind of quail are these? And how old?
Were it me I might keep her in sight of the others but separated for a week and try again.
I was running on the assumption of cots, if I'm wrong let me take a second to scrap my view point and form a completely different opinion on a solution.
Cheers,
Jessie
