This morning I got up and went out to tend to the birdies and the first thing I saw was one of my Guinea squashed on the road. First of all, I live on a corner where there is a stop sign so close I can throw a rock and hit it. So there is NO reason
anybody would be going so fast they couldn't stop to let a bird cross the road.
Not only did they run it over but they drug it all the way to the stop sign which proves they didn't even stop after they hit it. I was scraping pieces of her for about 20 feet. I was so mad
Now I have 1 hen and 3 roosters which means more fighting. I already have 1 that got beat up and now hides in the bushes when it sees the others coming. The hens where making nests and getting to start laying too.
Last year I had a puppy that wouldn't come to me and just ran across the road right in front of a car. Of course she got hit and killed. Did anybody stop? NOOOOOOOOO! I can understand not being able to stop with something that just shows up out of nowhere but the Guinea always walk across and don't dart out in the road. The only pen I can put them in are right next to the house by the bedroom and DH works midnights. I guess i'll just sell them instead of having them fighting over the only female or getting ran over.
