Why are silkies evil?

I have seen them referred to in that way in a few threads so was just wondering why the label? Don't have any of my own but I think they are really pretty.

Some say that they're addicting, but, honestly, they need their own, new word, because addiction doesn't cover it. Just wait, you'll get into silkies, then you'll end up falling in love with showgirls! Yeah, I used to think that showgirls were just weird looking, now, I just hatched my own out and I don't want to get rid of any of them!
