So I've got two bantom silkies and two Rhode Island reds. They are all about two years old. One of each bread is laying. The other two nothing. What's up with his?

Most hens don't lay every day, and many take breaks throughout the season. We are getting to the end of this season, and the heat causes many to stop laying. It's normal.

How do you know for sure they aren't laying? Just curious. It's unusual for a hen to never lay.
Well one of the silkies was quarantined for a while and we kept getting a small egg daily. The red was a similar situation. Seams odd they alternated. Possible though. We've introduced new birds to the flock in the last two week so I'm not suppressed they aren't laying. I'm a nervy so what I "Know" is limited.
