why is it that when some people read a road sign that says "left lane closed ahead" they interpret this as "limited time passing opportunity ahead" i mean REALLY! if you have been warned in every conceivable way for the last three miles that the left lane is ending why on earth would you try to race the big rig going 60mph to the end of the lane? i mean i know us big trucks are slow and lame to be behind but really, is it worth dieing over? this happens to me CONSTANTLY! i really don't get it, I'm pretty confident that if i tangle my 105,500lbs of chip truck with a car i will come out ahead, if I'm found not at fault it will end up being a glorified inconvenience for me but could possibly be deadly not only for the driver of the car and its occupants but to anybody else unfortunate enough to be traveling the same stretch of roadway, for the record I'm not a jerk, i do let people in when they need over but some people will actually be behind me knowing full well the lane is ending, then at the last minute say to themselves "you know i betcha i can make it" i just cant wrap my mind around this, well that's my driving pet peeve, anybody else?
