Why Are There So Many Irresponsible Dog Owners...Another Turkey Killed

I live right on the edge of the village on a residential street when the village center if only a mile away. If I were really rural, perhaps I would understand more, but there are lots of children on this street and people walking. If it is the dogs I think it might of been, they are a nuisance. You can't even walk down the street without getting chased.

but i dont think you completly understand the point of this. It wont bring back her dead loved bird! If the dog was kept in his own yard it would not have happend. Dont you see this? Dont you see how selfish it is to let dogs roam free? I'm sorry..i just dont understand how you dont even care that your dog might kill someone elses loved pets. You seem like a nice person..i just dont get the lack of common sense and compassion for others that your dog might affect.

I will weigh in...I too, live "way" out in the country. My dog is ONLY allowed to roam free on our own property..and that's when I'm outside with her..she is NEVER left outside alone, if she were to go onto others land, I would take full responsibility for her actions. She can be taken out in public without a leash..because she is trained to stay with me. BUT..my chickens also roam free on our own property, and I should not have to keep someone elses pet from chasing or killing my pets in my own yard...I don't allow my pets to do that-I expect the same consideration. If your pet can run around and not bother anyone elses property..then more power to you, if not...accept the consequences..

ALSO..you cant just replace the turkey like she didnt care about THAT turkey...thats very callous IMO She liked THAT turkey..thats now dead because of idiot people letting their dogs roam free off of their property...

It is just the way it is here though. Like I said, if you pen up a dog just because then people think you are insane. Just different ways of life for different places. AND IF (which none of us agree on containing dogs unless during hunting season or the dog is unruly) I had neighbors that didn't like my dogs roaming or I didn't like theirs roaming then I am sure we would all discuss it and find a solution...including containing one. But our neighbors love our dogs and we love theirs. It is a risk we are all willing to take to ensure our dogs live an above average life. Penned dogs can lead to lots of issues and aggressions that we never have to even worry with. I am just trying to explain a way of life that lots and lots live. To be called names is ridiculous when it is an acceptable thing where you live....just trying to make that point....that we aren't all 'idots, irresponsible, or anything of the sort"...thats all

And surely I know THAT turkey can't be replaced but she can get another turkey out of the owner to replace the dead one.......Good grief, doesn't everyone want their damaged property replaced? Even if it is a turkey? Depending on the monetary value of the dead animal...I sure would!

I think name calling reflects ones own character.....Like here, we would call you an idiot for penning your dog when it has no issues....but I WOULD NEVER call you an idoit because I don't personally know you or know your accepted ways of life....see....childish

and I usually don't put too much weight on ones opinion who displays childishness......

How can you even think I have no empathy? Because I said I hope she got something for what someones dog did? A replacement. Good Grief LOL
