Why are they not laying as many eggs?

Thank you again. I’ll read some more about broody hens and make a decision. I have them already laying to many eggs for consumption. So let them rest! They have been working very hard!

Ok! I have another question. For those that have or breed Olive Eggers. My two hens were laying the green eggs from the beginning but suddenly stopped doing it about a month ago. +or -. Or they are becoming a very pale green. I am posting a picture of the difference. The egg on the left is what I am getting now. The one in the middle is the original olive green, on the right it’s one of my Easter Egger. Is it the diet? Is it the heat? Is it the possible mini molting?Thank you for any wisdom that can be imparted.

Are the left 2 eggs from the same bird?
Far left looks greener to me, but photos can be deceiving.
The brown coating on a blue shell(which makes green eggs) can get lighter as the laying season progresses, thus changing the shade of 'green'.
That brown coating can also vary slightly any time.
The blue pigment in the egg shell can also vary over time.

Where did you get your OE's....do you know the cross used to make them??

All my hens have comunal nests so I can’t tell which one lays what precisely. I know that my two black hens are Olive Eggers since they were laying green olive eggs like the Egg in the middle. The one on the left its like a pale green. So it could be the ones being laid now by the Olive Eggers. The one of the right belongs to my three hybrids Easter Eggers, which lay eggs in different tones of blue. And you are right the true colors don’t show very well in the pictures.
