Why aren't my hens laying eggs?

Well, that's probably part of the problem....that is very hot...where do you live?
They use up what water they drink to cool their bodies, not make eggs.
Also, not all birds lay every day...so you may never see 3 eggs in one day.
I live in California

I don't think any chicken lays 365 eggs per year. Very good layers might lay 280-300 eggs per year. Lots of things affect laying. Nutrition. Stress. Weather. Length of daytime hours. Overall health. Age. And heredity. Rhode Island Reds are bred to be dual purpose, that is somewhat good for eggs and somewhat good for meat. So they could possibly only lay 225-250 eggs per year. Maybe better. Maybe worse. Depending on those many factors.
