Why aren't they laying!!!!!!!

Okay so I just got 11 new chickens. And all I have gotten is two eggs!!!!:( Does anybody have any ideas why they aren't laying????

A little more information would be helpful -
how old are these birds?
are they all female?
were they laying when you purchased them?
you "just got" them - how long have they been in your possession?
how are they being housed now?
what are you feeding them?

Stressors can cause a bird to stop laying - moving to a new location is stressful. It is not unusual for an actively laying bird to lay an egg or two immediately after a move and then stop for a period of adjustment (that first egg was already "in the works" at the time of the move due to it taking 25ish hours start to finish).
 
Agree, more info is needed. But if you "just" got these birds you need to give them a week or two to settle in to their new home, then they will start laying again. Provided they are hens of laying age of course!
 
Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm sorry your hens aren't laying. As Ol Grey Mare suggested, more information would definitely help in diagnosing the problem. We are here to help in any way we can.

One is a backed neck.
Eight polish.
Sliver Cochin.
Two lackenvelders.

X3 lots of things influence egg laying. Age, stress, feed, season and health are all examples. Older hens lay less often and young pullets take breaks. Stress can cause a decrease in egg production. Lack of calcium, water and feed can also cause a decrease. In winter and fall they lay less due to the weather and lack of light. And if they are sick then obviously they wouldn't lay.

Being of "laying age" can mean different things to different people - were they reported to be actively laying when you got them or as being "laying age"? I am not trying to split hairs here, but someone can say "laying age" and that doesn't mean the bird is actually laying, just that she is at the age where laying could be expected even if she is not actually an active layer at that time. Being of "laying age" could mean anything from they are 18 week old pullets at the point of lay to they are 2-3 year old hens who are at the point where their production may be tapering off.
