Well, not really. If you have a few chickens, and get more, the cost is not much more.​
 
My guess is that the firefighter works out and puts several raw eggs/ whites in a protein drink concoction. He may not want to disclose that for various reasons; avoiding questions about what else is in it. That's what it sounds like to me.

I make a daily smoothie with 3 egg whites once per day, but I'm not working out with heavy weights so this is plenty.
 
Actually if it's small flock raised eggs there's LESS chance of salmonillia, as that's a close contact spread disease. I'll make real cesar dressing from my eggs, I wouldn't from a grocery egg though.

Just to set the record straight...

EATING EGGS DOES NOT GIVE YOU HIGH CHOLESTEROL!

Ingested cholesterol isn't what makes your cholesterol high...it is carbohydrates. Sugar, wheat, etc...
