Hey guys for the past couple of weeks I've been waking up either in the middle of the night, or really early in the morning! This morning it was 3:30, and couldn't go back to sleep. Yesterday I woke up at the same time and againg at 4:00, and made myself go back to sleep. I know I have to put binding on 5 blankets today, but jeepers this is way too early to be sewing. I do however read my daily devotional, and feel better. Please help!

I just got through a period of only sleeping about two hours every night. Lasted for a couple of years. I got a lot done. But, now that I'm sleeping more again, I feel a lot better. I tried all sorts of things, short of medications. I just had to wait for my brain to work it out. Sorry, not much help, I know. Just sympathizing.

I have found my sleep schedule would get the most out of whack when I wasn't getting enough exercise. Also exercise really does tend to wear me out and put me to sleep. I bet this time of year you don't spend as much time outdoors. Consider doing something fairly active an hour or two before bedtime.

It's the time of year. I'm doing the same thing. My mind clicks on about the listsssssss of things I need to get done, the things I don't stand a snowball's chance of getting done, and the things I wish I could be doing instead. (Including the quilt I have yet to finish!)

It's not really lack of exercise, because lastnight we went caroling and walked. I think chicken-mama is right. Too many things to do on my list. I have yet to send Christmas cards, and different stuff.

Well, for me it is there never being enough time in the day and also the pre-menpausal thing going on. I go to bed early because I get up early but have noticed I must wake up ten times a night and it has been like that for some time now. I hate it! I think we are overloaded, I know I am and those two things combined for me causes my sleeplessness. ANYWAY, Happy Holidays to all.

I go through cycles like that. When that passes I sleep like the dead and nothing wakes me up...and then I start all over again for weeks at a time. Maybe it's normal??

I agree with Standard Hen's post. Before I started having hot flashes, I had trouble staying asleep. It didn't matter if I was exhausted or not, I kept waking up and couldn't get back to sleep.
Here are 2 things I suggest: increase your magnesium levels and use a progesterone oil. Magnesium glycinate or mg taurate are good oral supplements; "magnesium oil" can be used topically, with no laxative effect. I use the "oil" and rub it on my skin. It's great for muscle spasms or cramps, too. Most people are mg deficient anyway (food processing, sugar consumption, mineral-depleted soils, etc) and taking calcium supplements while ignoring magnesium compounds the problem.

This is what I use:
magnesium oil
progesterone oil

I know this is a busy time of year for women with all the holiday shopping, baking, cleaning and we're just overwhelmed. Try to take a few minutes at night, listen to some calming music, close your eyes and take some slow breaths from your belly area (not the chest area) and quiet your mind. We're so busy taking care of everything/everyone else that we forget to take care of ourselves.

I find that for me it can be something a small as I'm just a little too cold or too hot. Put another blanket on or take one off. Also, anxiety of the season and things you have to get done. It helps me to take a warm bath before bed to relax me.

Ha, listen to me... It's not like I've slept well in the last few days
