My friend's hen lay these bumpy eggs that more correct to say look like they have pimples. It is not every single one, but some of them will have that. Does anyone knows what is the reason for that?

I have a layer like that and the deposits get inside the egg white. Her eggs are uneatable for us, but not the flock. There is no way I'd cull her for this, I adore her. It's gross. It's like eating eggshell if we eat her eggs. It's an issue with their laying system.

Yes, it is not her fault that eggs come out this way. And for sure, it can be fed back to the chickens for extra calcium supply and other nutrients. Does every single egg of her's come out like this? Our chicken lay "pimpled" eggs just occasionally.

90 or more percent come out this way. Her super jumbo eggs are fine! Hopefully after she molts and increases her egg size, this will correct itself. Sometimes her eggs are fabulous!

Here's a rare occurance
