Why chickens?

Why did we get chickens, when these are here everyday?

A friend of ours had two wild turkeys that always hung around. Slowly they started hanging out with their chickens, and then began roosting with the chickens at night. They became part of the flock and lived there for over a year, until the neighbor decided they wanted a turkey for Christmas dinner and shot the tom... shortly after the hen left the flock and hasn't been seen since...

We have Turkey come around our place too. Being the fanatic that I am, I caught three turkeys just to observe them, then I let them go. That was an interesting experience.
