Hmm..
Well, for me I guess the answer STARTS with the fact that I'm an animal lover, and I'm gently breaking hubby into the idea of having a farm.
The second part is that I have this.. um.. well, let's call it a 'need to prepare' in case there is some worse-case-scenario with food shortages (makes more sense with global warming!), etc etc.. And I don't like the fact that I can't understand what I'm feeding to my kids, because we are so far removed from the food chain.
And.. they are adorable! They are friendly and funny. They seem to enjoy my company. They talk to me, and greet me. They sort of remind me of rather independent dogs! (with less drool and smaller poop!). Well, Sally reminds me of a kitty, hopping into my lap for a snuggle.
