In the past 2 weeks i have 2 chickens pass away......I dont know why...[IMG] ...THey are all ok .Then i notice that they cant keep their heads up. THen when i check again. It is dead. But they are all eating ,scratching doing what chickens do. THen one will look a little odd. It walks around..at first it looks as if it is looking at the floor eating. But it nevers look up. DOes anyone know what this might be???ooh they are young ones. About 4 months old

I would ask to have this moved to the emergencies forum and then answer the questions on the sticky. Someone may be able to help you.

    Good luck

I think I remember reading about something similar......it had to do with getting into mold or something toxic. I can't think of the exact cause. If you post in emergencies, someone there will definitely remember. I think there is even a treatment for it, but I just can't remember what it was. Is it possible they are getting into molded food or a compost pile or something like that?

ETA: botulism is what I am thinking of. try googling that.

Sound like it could be some sort of parasites either internal or external which may have given them a disease of some kind. I remember reading something about that. I'll grab the book tonight and if I have time I'll post what the book said. In the mean time I would check your flock for parasites - worms, mites and such.
