its confusing becuase chickens cant talk. i should know they cant talk because i have sat in the coop for hours talking to chcikens. they dont talk back.

Because the rooster found a tasty treat on the other side and called her over...and the reason the rooster got over there in the first place is because he saw the tasty treat and thought it would be a great way to get the hen's attention, which obviously it did. And that's why the hen crossed the road.

The hen just wanted to make everyone ask why did the hen cross the road. Because she knew it would annoy everyone and make them look dumb. Just kidding everyone but that was what she was thinking.
