Why did this happen?

Yea--a double yolker! I have a hen that lays one every so often. We fight over who gets the bonus egg! I also include them in my neighbors regular dozen she buys as a special treat. Congratulations!

I just opened up a dozen eggs from the grocery store and found one like that in it. These are sold as Large eggs, but I bet most of them are actually jumbo. I should weigh them. One egg is at least a super jumbo, ROFL. I swear it's mother was half emu...

To clarify: The eggs were bought at a major grocery chain but are from a local community farm. Turns out that $2.75 was a pretty good deal for these -- free range, 100% vegetarian fed, no hormones, no antibiotics (Though not labeled as organic). Monstrous eggs...

It's probably a double yolker. However there is a chance it could just

be the abnormal egg that happens somtimes.

Theres a big chance she'll

lay another double yolker, whether it's soon, or not.

I sometimes get huge eggs that aren't dbl yolkers, then again I sometimes get yolkless eggs. My daughter (the nurse) loves those "healthy eggs". She said "too bad you can't get them all to do that.....you'd be rich." no yolk!
