why do chicks die all of a sudden?

what are the reasons for a chick to die all of a sudden or become quiet in one corner of the cage while all others are happy and running around???

the age of the chicks is between 3-4 weeks

Chick does not die without a reason, have you checked his behavior lately? There are many diseases that can kill chicks in early age. Look for the sings, then treatment may help.

Before he died, did you notice any signs? unusual behavior?

Some breeds like Yokohomas are known for early fatality.

They get quiet in the corner because they don't feel well....due to....

Should i give Amprolium for prophylaxis/treatment??

Thats the thing, all of a sudden today in the morning there was a dead chick.... but i found that they were being fed the food that was being given to the adult chickens but it was crushed in the grinder. can that be the cause?

Many reasons as others have said but I second the coccidiosis. I’m not suggesting yours necessarily died of cocci, but I find at that sort of age they can easily develop it and it will cause death quickly if unnoticed. I always use medicated feed now and keep a very careful eye out for the signs. It’s always a good idea to keep a bottle of Coxoid on the meds shelf - If you need it you need it urgently.
