We were at TSC today and my daughter asked the worker "why do chicks need heat lamps?"
To which he replied "Because they're cold blooded"
Huh... cold blooded? I didn't know a cold blooded animal could regulate their body temperature at 103 degrees. And I wonder why the adults don't need heat lamps then... Maybe the chicks need a heat lamp because they don't have their mother to keep them warm until they feather out.

At least he didn't give any potentially dangerous information.
