why do I cringe when they say "orfington"?

If the originator's intent was to pronounce it that way, Southernbelle, then that would be correct, but being a French student for years, it sort of grates on my ears, LOL.

All the locals around here call Barred Rocks "Domineckers" and it drives me crazy.

D' Uccle is one of the tougher ones

, it doesnt sounds like how we read it... but orpington lol.... dont know how someone could mess it up, unless of course they have never seen it spelled. I know I was saying a lot of them wrong too until I came across one of the "pronunciation threads".

I call mine "Orps" and leave it at that

I don't say Black Sexlink either, I incorrectly call 'em "Barred Orps"

but it's not like I talk to anyone who even cares
