why do I torture myself?

I know we have as many chickens and turkeys as we can handle right now. I know we are newbies at poultry and agreed to go one full year with a flock just to see how it goes before we got more. I know winter is not the best time to get new chicks, esp. if you don't have electricity in your coop. I know it took us 6 months to get the balance of birds right in our flock so that they'd stop trying to kill each other.


I know this.


So why is it that everytime I come on BYC, the very first thing I do is check the auctions to see if anyone is giving away chickens in my area????
