Why do my ducks do this

@FernbergFarms sorry for the late response! WOW! That is excellent news about daffy! I do have ducks two! One drake and then my little angel, Josh (who I thought was a boy until she learned to quack). They are about one month younger than your babies and mating like CRAZY. I'm so jealous Daffy is laying because I want Josh to lay so badly. I keep popping ceramic eggs in her "spot" hoping she'll get the message!

@graypes oh my goodness! They are so precious!! I love the colors!!! Is this your first time with ducks or not? This is my first time with them and I love them!!! I’m sure she will lay soon! I was waiting forever for Daffy to lay eggs and then finally I found three in her house and I was so exited!! I am going to try hatching 5 out. This is my first time in that too. Any tips? Have you ever hatched ducklings out? I got my eggs for the incubator just trying to adjust temp and such!

This is my first time too! My ducks are both Indian Runners and I actually picked them up at the farm supply store! I've only ever hatched turkeys before, but from what I've read, ducks need a few extra steps in their incubator (I read somewhere you take them out of the incubator for 10 min a day, spray them with water then put back in BUT DONT QUOTE ME lolololol) I am SO excited for you! It will be so neat to see what they hatch out to look like! I bet you'll be able to tell who the father is pretty quickly! What type of incubator do you have?

Yeah!! I got mine at a farm supply store too! You have turkeys too? I get turkeys but we butcher them.
I have a Hova Bator . It’s kinda old but it got to temp so I’m hoping everything turns out! What kind of incubator do you have? Yeah I think I do! They’re like an off white. Do you know what color josh will lay?

I heard I’m supposed to do that too so I’m going to incorporate that into my hatching schedule!

Are your ducks really friendly? In the picture you shared it looked like you had ur hand on their bills. My ducks like me but they don’t like me holding them and they’re a little skittish. They used to be soooo skittish but they’ve gotten so much better!! I thought it was because I got them at a farm supply store and I spent SOOOO much time with them talking to them and singing to them and all that but they don’t come up to me and let me pet them! How did you get your ducks so nice?
