Why do people have to act all high and mighty

There is a local locally grown group that is kindda like a farmers market kinda like a co-op. Well I have eggs coming out my ears right now and had the eggs priced at $4 a dozen. Last week I didn't sell any. This week I dropped my price to $3.50 and had 6 dz sold. At the close of the market the lady that runs it deleted all my egg orders. She called me (didn't mention she deleted the orders) and said that us egg producers (yes I'm her competition on there) need to stick together and she doesn't make money when selling eggs at $3.50 a dz so I can't be either. I didn't know at the time she had deleted all my orders. I agreed that I would change my price back to $4 a dozen. I have to pay them a 13% commission on all egg sales. I feel robbed and angry and a few words I can't say on here.

I want to email her and tell her it is wrong to delete the orders. But I also need to figure out how to sell some of these eggs. If I make her mad she won't allow me to sell on there.

Is there anyone higher up then her in this deal?
I would go to them and report her for messing with your sales.

Any way you can find the orders again?
Maybe look at selling your eggs else where.

6 dozen eggs? That's it as part of a co-op/farmers/local market thing?

At that rate, forget the market, I'd just do it on the side from your drive way, through places like work places, or set up a weekly delivery to town. Price fixing at it's finest.

Even at that low of a level it sounds like price fixing to me and is total BS.

It is all about supply and demand. If the supply is high then prices invariably will drop. Same as with demand. If there is high demand prices will rise. If you can produce the same product at a better price than she can then it kind of sucks to be her.

A lot of it will depend on what the agreement is. Is it her market? Is she just managing it?

If they were priced at $4 a dozen but you did a "8th dozen free", your customers would actually be paying $3.50 a dozen which would satisfy you, while technically still selling them at $4 a dozen to satisfy the group....

Did anyone else there in the group sell any eggs at $4?

What she/the group did is dispicable in deleting your orders. Isn't price fixing illegal?

breeders do the same thing with chick prices.....

they get mad when you drop the price. If you live on a road with traffic you could put out a sign....it takes a little while to build buyers and word of mouth does go a long way.

Wait, am I to understand that the woman essentially stole $21 from you? I am so sorry you have to deal with that! I would find someone higher up to complain to or something! I wouldn;t just let it go, I mean I may be more apt to drop it if it was just one or 2 dozen, but 6 dozen eggs?! Oye...
