Why do roosters dance (at me too)

Roosters use this dance to impress hens. They also use it before starting to fight with another rooster. If your rooster tries it with you, be very careful before you stoop down and try to pick him up. He could interpret this as a signal that you are starting a fight, and he could peck or even spur you. Be careful!

My Silkie roo started doing this when he was about 8 months old. I thought it was adorable and didn't take care of the problem. The next month he attacked me and now as hard as I try, I must remain showing him my dominance by picking him up or giving him a smack, almost 1 year later. Prevent what might happen. Cute now, but not when you have an arm full of spur.

like i said, he just started doing all his rooster bussiness. he dosn't have spurs tho! but he is a RIR.
