why do some ducks nibble at everything ??

All of mine do this. My drake is particularly intense with it, though...I raised him from a baby, & I know that he sees me as mom & loves me dearly, but when he is in the mood to mate, he bruises the heck out of me !

Like, I can't even give him water without getting little bruises from him latching on. He bobs his head & I know to steer clear, ouch.

My Cayuga drake does this all the time and I love it. I tap him on the nose if he seems like he's doing it to shoo me away when I'm working with him, but he's never ever hurt me and generally only does it to my shoes and pant legs. He's particularly determined when I have treats and will nibble all over the place looking for more. Of course, tonight I had the odd sensation when I crouched over to check on my hen and I felt a tickle on my back side. Such a nut.
