Why do they always get the hens?

Why do the predators always take the hens?... I lost 5 hens this winter/spring and now I have more roosters then hens.. I just bought chicks and I am sure 5 out of the 8 are roosters... errrrr...

Sorry for your losses. Not sure if your area does what they do here in Lakeland, Florida, but you might look for a small animal swap to get rid of those extra roos (that is if you want to). Good luck!
