ok for some reason my peakin ducks are finding and eating the dog poo! WHY??
This dont seem good to me, is it??

i do not let them do it, but for some odd reason, they always find some and i have to run them off.

What causes this?

thanks everyone!!

Dog poo is semi digested dog food that has protein. Most dog food has a lot of grain that dogs can't digest also.

My ducks are not touching our dog poo. I would try a different dog food brand. We are using Purina Beneful dry food and canned dog food. I think I would freak out, if my ducks ate dog poo.

Lol my dog already eats goose poo, if the geese ate his poo it would be like a poo potluck. So many different kinds to try! Duck: your poo looks delish mind if I have a bite? Dog: sure, go ahead, yours looks divine too.

Ironically our golden retriever is also after duck poo. He does get into trouble (yelled at) for it, so he does know better.

Yes my pekins and my dogs eat each others left overs too. I just pick up my dog's poop and firmly correct the dogs. Its probably not the best thing for them considering all the parasites found in fecal matter, but its not the easiest thing to stop when they share a yard.

i have 3 chihuahuas that stay in the house and whenever we let them out to use the bathroom, tyson and harley always go and find some wonderful duck or chicken poo to eat. you know what they say, "out with the old, in with the new." but it's still gross.
