Why do they quit?

Yes, I am very impressed, also. Thanks.

You know, this explains a few of my quitters, I think. Maybe they were just in the wrong position, possibly due to shipping?

Two of my little eggs who hatched pipped and zipped on the wrong end of the egg. I DID help them out. I ALWAYS help if a chick has zipped for four hours or more because I think that even with proper humidity the chick gets too dried out and shrink wrapped. So I help, and this has not proven to be a mistake for me, although I do know that many people are against it. You cannot tell the ones I helped from the ones I did not help now.

You know, if you have paid $70 for a dozen eggs (not a common thing, but I did for some I really wanted) then you want to help if you can. By the time you have had eggs shipped and then incubated artificially, I think nature taking its course has already been bypassed.

I wonder what a person could do to prevent any more quitters? Any ideas?

I am sure that this is always the case--it was the most expensive eggs that had the most quitters. Darn.
