Why do you guys give your chickens apple cider vinegar?

Why does it have to be organic? I picked up some ACV and it says 5% acidity diluted. Is that not the same?

Not organic....unpasteurized and unfiltered. This means the good yeasts/bacteria that are beneficial for their immune systems and intestinal health are intact and haven't been killed by the pasteurization process.

I GET MINE AT WHOLE FOODS,,,,I FEED MY FAMILY MOSTLY ALL ORGANIC, AND MY CHICKENS TOO.THEY ARE MY PETS, I HAVE 23 CHICKENS...ALL DIFFERENT KINDS...

It's been awhile for this thread, hope I get an answer. ..I use the Chicken Nipples which are part metal. Can ACV be used with the nipples?

Thanks for the info, I think I have read here 1 TBSP per gallon? I am trying to get them used to FF, today they just mostly scratched dirt into the feeders. I may try to get the ACV into them via their water.

I've always used mother ACV and my flocks have stayed healthy. Every time I cleaned out and changed the water I would add 1 TBL. of the ACV. It's just so beneficial.
