We started off with a trio of African geese and they were the loudest animals I have ever heard. They would honk and carry on if the wind blew, the sun shined, it was dark..... you get the idea. They were also extremely friendly but one day after honking most of the night Sharon said they had to go.
Then we got Embdens and later Toulose.
I think what gets me most about them is they are smarter than other birds. Our Embdens used to be very friendly towards me until 2 years ago, we raised a gosling to be the Christmas goose and after we processed it they won't come near me to this day. They knew I took one away and it didn't return and they remembered. Sharon can still hand feed them with no problems so they still have me pegged as the bad guy I guess.
Frogdog, do you remember the old "baby huey" cartoons? That's what the goslings have always reminded of.
