I lost only one a few days ago she was young 11 weeks where did it say on my profile that I lost a chicken not trying to be weird or anything just want to know where you saw it
Oh, not you, sorry, I was referring to "PippinTheChicken", but I am very sorry to hear that you lost a girl too. I just lost my most specialist, sweetest, 5 years old girl Joy Joy a couple of weeks ago, and then my brother's special girl Penguin 6 days later. I have another girl that has a bad case of prolapsed vent that also means a good fraction of the world to me, I am scared for her life.

Because my 4 & 5 year old boys are channeling their inner Schwarzenegger and Stallone eating 3-4 eggs each for breakfast. They also already each eat more than I do in a day and all they want to eat is meat, veggies and rice. We go through quite a bit of meat and eggs😅 However, the hens are like pets and the boys have their polish for pets. The chickens help with bugs some, but my ducks are the big foragers.

Haha! I'm the one (only one, so far) that does not have chickens.... yet. I've been wanting to get some for years now but something always seemed to get in the way. Either life was just busy, or we had trips planned and there'd be no one to care for them. We're too far out for trusted people to drive out to our place.

Anyway, with rising food costs and talks of food shortages, that just provided the umph to get me going again. My plan is to start small with just some laying hens (2-3) with the thought that as I get comfortable with caring for them, I can always expand to meat as well.

I'm one that wants all my questions answered before acquiring an animal. I could never impulse buy a (new type of) pet. So here I am on the forum.... learning, learning, learning.
