Why do you like your breed of duck(s)?

Curious as to why everyone likes a certain breed or breeds. I had mallards, but wondering if a different breed would be "better".

My mallards met an horrific end by a mink attack late October this year. I am currently thinking about getting more ducks this spring, but would like to know what gravitates you to a specific breed and why.

I love my Anconas. Very very friendly and pretty quiet. Had them growing up and loved having my duck friends follow me in the yard. Just a nice big friendly duck who doesn't mind the Iowa winters.

I never had mine long enough for them to sit. But I would guess they would be good mothers. They were really laid back.

Love my cayugas they are amusing and love too bath.love my Welsh they are quiet and good foragers.khakis are egg laying machines.

Any breed of Duck can hatch eggs. Certain breeds are more prone to Broodiness.
