Why does my BR hen look so weird?

It's not a breed that has hen feathering for roosters. She is a hen that has a huge hormone imbalance. Likely due to a damaged ovary.
Can surgery fix that?
There is very expensive surgery on humans that can possibly fix that when happens on humans

Don't want to start any sex and gender related wars here!!!!!

I'm honestly not sure. I know there are hormone implants to make hens stop laying. I don't believe there are any to reverse the hormone imbalances caused from a damaged ovary though.

I do not see that benefit of stop egg laying unless health issues but heard you can inject hormones to go broody which I am interested in but couldn't find any sources

Hey everybody, One of our barred rock “hens” look a little different from the rest; she also looks nothing like our rooster. She is the top hen of the flock, two times the size of all the other hens, darker than the other barred rocks and has a monster comb? We raised her since she was a day old and she is 7 months now. our other BRS look more normal

Is she laying yet?

No, our other BR girls have been laying for months, she instead has decided to do nothing for months and crow and mount hens today. Those hens have all so far treated her as a female and are very confused.
Interesting, so she is more than likely going to end up being a 'Lawn Ornament' - looks pretty but otherwise no other function :) I have a few horses like that. She is very striking in her looks, I say as long as she isn't aggressive then she doesn't harm the other hens just go with the flow.

I would bet her ovary was damaged. Hens only have one functional ovary, and when it is damaged, hens can take on characteristics of roosters, and they will never lay. I think that is what has happened here.
I've heard of this too. Sometimes their hormones are off too so they become masculinized and act like a rooster does but are biologically female.
