Why does my chick look like she's panting?

Could it be because the heat lamp is too close to her? I have two chicks and one looks like she's panting, and the other is acting completely fine.

It could be because they are too hot, as chickens pant when they are hot, but it could also be that she has a respiratory problem.

Panting: Beak open, rapid breathing, wings held out, staying away from the heat light.

Trouble breathing: Open mouth breathing, clicking or gurgling while breathing, hunched up and under the heat-light, lack of energy.

I hope she's alright. If she really is panting, try raising the heat light or providing more room for them to escape the heat.

Best of luck!

Oh thank you! She's not hunched or making any gurgling sounds so I'm very thankful for that! I guess it is the lamp, then. I'll raise it immedeatly. I turned it off a few minutes ago to let it cool before I raise it, and she seems to be a bit more comfortable now.
