...insist on sitting on my head?? They mostly all jump up and sit on my arms and legs while I'm sitting with them. But my one girl now has to fly up to my shoulder and then she JUMPS ON MY HEAD.

Those be some sharp nails.

I have Polish Top Hat chicks and they are jumpers. They will go right for the head. I can hardly keep them in the box at 8 days old! This will be interesting.........

It must be because it's the highest vantage point. I have a little Barred Rock pullet who jumps on my back then scurries all the way up to my neck as I lean over to pet the birds. She then flaps her wings to get to the tippy top of my head where she promptly does the chicken shuffle looking for something to eat. You think the claws are sharp? Try the BEAK! OW!!!

Yeah, I try to break that habit young. I rather never have a chick above my eye level because I want to be the head rooster so to say. Besides... having a bird jump up right after stepping in fresh cecal poo is noo fun at ALL. :|

My SLW flys to my shoulder every chance she gets. She got on my head once and I immediately removed her and will not allow that. She enjoys it under my hair and snuggled up next to my neck. LOL

Lola, my lavender cochin, loves to hop up on my back when I bend over to do anything, and will sit on my shoulder if she has the chance. We had the babies outside Tuesday evening, and Robinhood, one of my new RIR banties, came and stood at my feet, and looked up at me, peeping. He then tried to flap up to sit in my lap in the lawn chair. (I had to help a little.. ) Once he was in my lap, he hopped up my chest until he was perched on my shoulder and nuzzled my ear! It was sooo sweet!
