why does my chicken act like this

Hi,

I have a 3 year old RIR hen.
Only since she was 2 and a half she started to lay eggs.
But she acts like a cock she crows and cock fights anyone but her fellow hens.
The wierd thing is she is at the bottom of the pecking order and the rest of my hens dislike her.
I just want to know why she acts this way.

Do you have a rooster?? If not it is her taking over as the Male in the flock.. I had an EE do this as well.. When there is an absemce of a male some times a hen will act just like a roo...

I've got one that acts like that too. I know she's a hen cause I've seen her lay. She has long nails that I have to trim and she has the nub where the spur would be on one leg (about 1/2 inch long). I've called her all kinds on names when she jumps on my other hens.
