Why does my chicken have a bald neck?

Hi everyone, can anyone tell me why my hybrid has a bald neck? I don't think she could have done it herself and I've checked her over for mites etc but her skin is perfectly healthy. I also haven't seen any of the other chickens bullying her so I don't think its them. Here are a few pictures:

Boy, that's a puzzler for sure! Reason I say that is because looking very closely at that last pic I see no redness whatsoever and the skin is very clean looking...someone should be along soon that can better answer your question...best of luck!

I'll be interested in seeing if you get more responses. Of our 11 hens, three have bald necks and two of them are Golden Comets (sex links). I have just assumed they are molting.

Favus is a fungal infection that can work it's way down the neck but usually you'd see some crusting, flaking or white patches on the skin. I don't see anything on that bird at all!
