Why does my egg has a hole on the top?

Hi, I have a BLRW hen, she just started laying again last week after hatching 3 babies about 7 weeks ago. I have gotten about 4 eggs in total from her. ALL of them have this little hole at the top where the air sac is. The egg is still intact otherwise, no yolk seeping out. Is she doing this to her egg, or are they being laid that way with the hole?

My guess is that she is doing it, no clue as to why

That looks like a little beek hole to me. We had one doing that and she actually ended up eating them - grrrr!! Hopefully she's just being curious and you won't have to deal with that. Congrats on the new little chicks!!!

Ok, I just realized that my description was not very clear - what I meant was it looks like she's pecking at it
