Why does my right nostril burn ever so slightly?

We have a Mexican couple that we've befriended. They often cook for us, and they say in their barely english "Hot pepper, no-no for your white American hands! Must wear gloves!"

I hope your nostril feels better soon! Once I inhaled powered hot peppers when I worked at an Italian restaurant in the kitchen, and wow it burned like nothing else ever has.
