Why don't more people have ducks as pets?

I absolutely LOVE my two call ducks. They are awesome pets and very affectionate! This made me wonder, why don't more people have ducks as pets? If space is an issue, get call ducks. If sound is an issue, get male ducks.

If messiness is an issue, well -- ducks are messy, deal with it!

I adore my six runner ducks; they're silly and endlessly entertaining. But trying to keep their shelter floor clean and having to change out the water in their pool and dishes takes a lot of time and repeated effort.

Still, I agree with you -- they are totally worth it!
