Why don't my chickens like me? Lol

i've got sixteen 2-month-old chickens, 6 ameraucanas, 6 black australorps and 4 cochins (plus 4 royal palm chicks of the same age). half of them are scared of me, but not to the point where they freak out and start going crazy trying to get away. the other half are indifferent, won't come to me, but will not struggle if i put my hand under them to pick them up. out of the second half, however, there is one in particular that does like me (still hoping it's a hen so it doesn't get culled).

i have been able to tell that one apart from the others from the time it was a day old chick, because it and another were more of a wheaten color, the others were all darker. this one, i would take out and get it worms (i've got an electrical device that sends an electrical current into the ground that is just strong enough to cause the worms to come out of the ground to get away). after a couple times of this, it would stay by me, follow me around and sit on my finger.

my thought, is it has to do with food and their association of you with the food. i wouldn't say it thought i was its mother, just that it could trust me, because i was feeding it delicious worms

i've also got four year-and-a-half old sussex, that i have acquired within the last several months. they were terrified of me, but since i've started treating them with whole corn everyday, will now come within a foot of me to eat the corn. they also follow me around if they see me heading in the direction that the corn is stored.

the way to a chickens heart is through treats
