why hasnt my chicken layed her first egg?

I have a cream legbar melow she is about 28 weeks now and still no eggs, she dosent squat or anything and yes i do understand days are getting shorter..

I have quite a few that are the same age as your chicken that have not started laying yet. In my past experience, some of my newbies start laying in the late summer/early fall and will either continue sporadically thru the winter, or some will just wait until it's closer to spring. I'm not too worried about my girls that aren't laying yet, it always seems to happen eventually... BUT I'm not an expert on this either, so there might be other explanations...

she went in the nesting box today after i cleaned them out and stood there for abit but that was it,

Because she's not physically mature enough yet. That comb is just pink, she won't start laying until it is bright red.
