Why have a backyard flock when you can buy Extra Large Eggs for 73 cents per dozen?

Are you referring to Living Traditions Homestead? God their story crack me up! LOL

I can't remember the exact video credits for the anit-Guinea post, but it was a man and wife and they had more than enough of their guinea hens. They just wanted a little peace and quiet in their life at that moment.

Well put! :clap I battle depression, anxiety and a host of physical issues; sometimes my chickens are all that motivate me to get up and get outside to get a little fresh air, sunshine and exercise. They truly are therapeutic!

:love Sorry to hear about your condition. But, it sounds like you have found some effective ways to cope using chicken therapy. I don't have your challenges, but I, too, find chicken TV very relaxing. Sending you and your chickens a little love, as it appears that your backyard flock is lucky to have you and you are lucky to have them.

I've had guineas. I can relate. People say they are good watchdogs. No, they're not. They rattle and shriek nonstop, so you tune them out.

When I brooded my first group of chicks I was the first one in the house up…I’m usually the last! I couldn’t wait to get downstairs and check on my babies just like a momma hen! (I don’t worry as much now but they still get me moving when I don’t want to. ❤️

I think we sometimes overlook the personal benefits we get from taking care of a backyard flock. Sometimes it is just relaxing spending time with my chickens, but when I spend a few hours on maintenance or building something for the chickens, it gets me up and doing something better than watching TV. Eggs are just a bonus.

Thanks, and yes. 🙂

Yes! A watch dog would not be considered good if they barked at everything that moves.
Same goes for guineas.
That being said, I still really enjoy mine. 😍
