We recently got new chickens. They are 1 1/2 to 2 years old. When we first got them about a month and a half ago, they layed like crazy for about a week and then just stopped laying ever since. They eat layers pellets and we have started to give them scrapes also. They free range a few hours a day. They have two laying boxes (12 chickens). We have one rooster. We can't figure this out. Any help please!

odds are with this time of year they are molting and I wouldn't be concerned. Is their poo ok? Are they eating and drinking alright? If so just let nature take it's course. Mine seem to molt just when my eggs sales go up and then I am stuck with just orders and no eggs

If they are molting I always up thier protien by feeding gamebird 22%. It takes a lot of protien for feather growth and they seem to get thru the molt faster if their feed reflects that.

If they free range, like mine do, then their protein levels are up and it seems to go quickly.
