Why is Daffy's leg doing this?

I ml over a special treat.
Got it today and gave Daffy her first dose. A couple more questions, if you don't mind.

1. Is it 1ml/day?
2. How long should I continue treatment?
3. I bought Niacin 500mg capsules a couple weeks ago to have on hand. The Durvet Complex B, is it an alternative to the capsules or are they for two different situations/issues?

Give the liquid B Complex only right now. 1 ml daily over a special treat until at least a week after her legs are normal. But some need it longer and even when there has been an injury it can help support the muscles while healing. The liquid B complex is much better than straight niacin when one has a problem already.
That isn't the right niacin anyway hope you can take it back. Flush free won't work on our birds.

Ok, thank you! I'll see if I have the receipt. I remember reading somewhere about the flush free and I apparently remembered/thought the opposite 🙄 Glad I asked before using it and glad you were here to help me again ❤️

It's hard to judge poop by the amount of liquid since most waterfowl are water hogs. What is she eating feed and treats and in foraging? high protein can cause stinky poops. different feeds and what she may be foraging on can also cause stinky poops. If her foot is pointing inward then you def want to keep the B complex going. She may be having injuries with mating too. Drakes can hurt their female [not intentionally] but that is a lot of weight and if they mate on the ground that can cause injury. She may need rest from mating if they are still in that mode and rest from using her leg much. Swim therapy is also good to help with leg strength. Is she getting adequate calcium?

She was getting her swim on at the time I was reading your response 😂 She gets in the water 2-4 Xs/day.

But, Daisy is still wanting to do his thing but definitely not as often as before, as recent of a week ago. He's mounting her 2-3 Xs/day which is half of what he was doing.

  • They have free access to the following feed.

  • Free access, in separate bowls of the following.

  • They free range from 8:30/9am - 6:30/7:00 pm eating grass/dirt/weeds.
  • Treats consist of a small handful of kitty food (divided into separate hands so each gets ½ of the handful) after being let out of their run for the day. When it's time for bed, they get a handful of kitty food, soaked all day in water, topped with handful of mealworms, topped off with more water to make it a soup and they both eat simultaneously out of this dish. Daffy gets a small medicine cup of kitty food that has her medicine soaked up.

  • Daffy's poop this morning while waiting for her "breakfast," the small ½ handful of kitty food I mentioned before. Also, this consistency of poop started a week (4 or 5 days) after getting the B Complex daily.

After I posted my response I thought of one thing that has changed recently and that was at the same time I started the B complex with her and that was the change in the Kitty food. We have a senior cat and we just switched him over to senior Kitty food. So perhaps the new kitty food or the B Complex or the combination of them both is what changed Daffy's poop. With the old Kitty food and without the B complex her poops seemed to be normal.

But considering Daisy is getting the same Kitty food as a treat and at dinner time, the only thing different that the two get is Daffy is getting the B complex and Daisy is not. Thoughts?
