I am not getting any responses to my other post so trying this...

My cockerel is making STRANGE noises, he'll open his beak and make a soft mumble, moaning sound. Also one of his eyes is half closed and runny. Any ideas on what is wrong with him?? I tried taking a video but it was too dark by the time I got around to it. I'll take one in the morning.

*also, he IS eating. He is not sneezing. No nasal discharge. Just a cold? I don't have any Vet RX. Should get some...

Try changing your heading-Add "HELP-Sick chicken" at the beginning. I'll give you a bump.

It's probably a cold. Hope it's not coryza. If a cold, and he's eating and drinking normally, he will most likely get over it soon.

I would put chicken in a portable cage like a dog kennel and get him away from other chickens !

Keep him in a warm dark stress free place. I would get him some vet RX
Box say's : Symptoms of colds are watery eyes, droopy appearence, and unusual tendency to shake or turn head.

To aid in minor respritory conditions drip Vet RX solution into birds nostrils. Place a few drops of warm RX straight from the bottle, down infected birds throat at night. Also rub some warm on head and under wings.

If condition becomes worse treat with a solution of one teaspoon in one-half cup hot water. Also swab troat and wash head and eyes with this solution four or five times a day. Keep nostrils, eyes and throat as clean as possible.
Put as birds drinking water warm water with drops of Vet RX.

Anyway that is what I would try. Good luck !
