Why is it in this position?

Hello, I have just helped a chick that was totally stuck in its shell and in has zipped and not finished for a full day, so I have just helped because it seemed to of stoped even trying to escape it was just cheeping but when I got it out of its shell it was just going back in to a egg shape, it’s just staying curled up, will it be ok? What does this mean??

did the chick straighten out? could the sticky feathers be keeping it in that position
